Even if it's your first time and you have no idea how long the filter has been there, or how much it was overtightened? My hands aren't THAT strong. I found some fiber reinforced oil filter sockets at the local box store for about $3 each. They even had one small enough to to a Toyota oil filter or the internal transmission filter on my dad's Dakota.
