That VW/Volvo/Renault diesel is actually a pretty nice engine. A
little smokey (VERY smokey when the cold start device sticks, or the
EGR valve says open) and pretty powerful for a 2.4L engine.
Main drawback is noisy idle and a finicky distributor type IP.
