You'll be hard pressed to find anything other than maintenance free anymore. Marine batteries are sometimes as are 6v batteries we use in old tractors but other than that...
If its the right size and its only a year or so old I might try it. That said both my cars have Autozone (can't remember the brand name) batteries now and they've been great. The 190D's is probably 3 years old, the one in the 240D is more like 5, no issues at all. -Curt Date: Fri, 29 Jan 2010 17:51:20 EST From: rdeaf...@aol.com To: mercedes@okiebenz.com Subject: [MBZ] Bosch Battery Message-ID: <164c3.18204912.3894c...@aol.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Some local C/L has a new Bosch Premium Plus battery for sale for $50. It is maintenance free which means I can't add distilled water as required. I presently have an Interstate battery for the last 7 + years [My second Interstate over 16 years].Just noted that while I'm driving the 83 240D,the glow plug lights comes on intermittenly. Somebody posted recently that could be due battery weakness ?? He bought it new for $120 about 4 months ago...so is this a good battery??Am I better off with one that can add water as required? _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
