Hi Gang --
I've been driving the W-124 to try and understand when and why the
pre-glow light is coming on once in a while. I drove about 1 mi. when it
came on - I needed to turn so I hit the turn-signals and brakes and the
light blinked and went out momentarily then came on again. It repeated
this behavior - the light came on, I'd hit the brake a couple of times and
the pre-glow light would go out, then come back on after a couple of seconds
and after 20-30 seconds it went out and stayed out for a few minutes. It
did this 2 or 3 times.
While the ignition switch is not new, I am leaning toward the GP Relay
being bad - I have been reading the procedure and hopefully will test it
soon. But I think I will replace the ign switch anyway.
I need help finding the WSM procedure dealing with the ign. switch - I
have looked at all of the Gr 54 pdf's without seeing any dealing with R&R or
testing the ignition switch.
Anyone know where it might be?
