I pulled up to a light today in my 1983 240D. When the light changed, I pushed the sifter past drive into neutral and then back into drive, while I was pressing the fuel pedal. The car went clunk and would not go into drive low reverse only park. The linkage looks intact. Any Ideas what I may have broken in the transmission? 151,000 miles on car trans worked great before this.
