This is exactly the reason Ed said to buy the best you can find &
afford. There are tones of these beauties around and one has your name on
it. The expense of restoring one of these even moderately in need of
freshening will shock you... especially if you have to pay someone to work
on it.
I hope things work out and you get to enjoy owning a 911 one day. For
me it was a lifetime dream come true. I was "smitten" when I was 13 or 14
and discovered sports cars. The 911 and XKE was at the top of my list....
