they just pop on and off.

Howdy -
Our '91 300D (W124) has plastic (?) exterior door panels which do an
amazing job at fending off rust and dents/dings.
I have a small spot of rust just above one of the panels (the panel on
the L rear door) and don't want to break anything removing the panel.
I need to take the panel off to make sure I get all the rust.
The WSM doesn't do a good job describing the removal of the panels.
There are screws at the front and rear of the door and I *think* the
center part of the panel snaps onto plastic things on the door. I'd
like to buy some new plastic keepers in case I break one or more of them.
Anyone know how to remove those panels? Is it likely I'll break the
holders? I'm off to look at the parts diagram & will hopefully find
pn's.
Thanks!
