Years ago when I worked in a welding/generator fab shop, we had the solder style battery terminals. The first thing you did when you got a new car (new to you, not "new") was to go to the scrap pile, get some pieces of 4/0 welding cable, and make up new battery cables for it.
I can recall a VW fastback I had that just about spun the bendix off the starter after getting new cables.... A nice touch is to finish with a section of glue lined shrink tubing, keeps water out, insulates, and makes it look like it's meant to be there. :) Walt On May 4, 2010 1:30 AM, "Jim Cathey" <j...@windwireless.net> wrote: I am thinking of fabricating one... Take about 2 minutes soup to nuts! Welding cable would be fine enough to take the movement. I reinstalled a brass battery clamp end on the 45kW Kohler genset using a surprisingly small amount of flame from the torch. _Way_ easier than trying to use an iron on something that big! -- Jim _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
