Loren:

I was amazed, but that was all it took. Let us know if you get similar results.
The same service also solved a slightly late 1-2 upshift, and a slight 2-3
flare. Who
knew? Trans has been shifting perfectly and consistently for 45k miles of
mostly highway driving since.

One of the things I like best about the 722 is the kickdown button that allows
you to get full throttle without kickdown. Because of the broad torque band
on-boost, I
find I almost never kick down from 4th on when wide open up steep hills and
during passing, which I think saves trans wear. Above about 55 mph or so, 4th
pulls just
fine. Every other AOD trans I've driven didn't allow you to "opt out" of
kickdown at WOT, and was constantly dropping out of OD. Of course, the
numerically high final
drive ratio helps, too.

Dan

Thanks Dan. That was the original plan. (Drain and filter change)
But I started wondering if there was really any hope for that being a
good solution. Glad to know that is a possible solution.

that was checked before, and it and the "Gate B" switches will be
checked in the AM

I never noticed that the 87s had a cable. Never had to mess with it,
and never had to take out an engine, head or trans on an 86 or 87
yet. good to know, I guess.
