Maybe what you really want is the parts book for your car(s)? The parts book has all the exploded diagrams found in the EPC showing all the parts, but no numbers, just a picture. Very useful at the Dealer parts counter. I have one for my wagon, will probably try to get one for my E300.
The part numbers get superseded, so the number changes. If you tried to order the old part, I'll bet that Rusty or the dealer should be able to tell you the new part number rather easily. Or do they actually change a number?
