I would prefer a poorly designed cigarette lighter to poorly designed valve
guides and such too, but as I said, if you love a car, you take it as a
package for what it is.

I love my old 911 and wouldn't part with it for the world, (except for when
Wilton is exercising it for me over the winter), but it has some serious
design faults.  Funky chain tensioner arms, and tensioners, air boxes that
like to go bang to the tune of $1500-2000, rubber mounted clutch disks that
would dry and require replacement.  All serious stuff, but I love the car,
so I keep an eye on stuff, service it well, and occasionally, have to
exercise my chequebook. hee hee
