Right about the SM per Wikipedia, and I could certainly see D-B
engineers wanting to integrate headlight control into a computerized
active suspension system such as many of their models now have.  (Car
goes into a hard turn; computer stiffens suspension on the outside to
reduce body roll, and turns headlights a little bit up and into the
turn to compensate for weight shift and give the driver a better
view.)

But I thought John R. was talking about needing the scan tool's help
to perform a static aiming, as it were, of the headlights, as opposed
to the "draw a line on the wall 30 feet away and twiddle the adjusters
until the beams look right" method.
