I appreciate the attention to this.  I also called my nephew who looked up
the records for his S500 customers.  The general impression is to stay away
from anything that has an air suspension system.  The S420 just had the
dealer replace the AC and he just did a full tune up - I don't know if these
are his costs or the dealer costs, but he says he has $30K in receipts spent
to keep the car in perfect shape.  I'll see in the morning.

Oh, btw: It's a 'one owner' car, but it was titled in CA in 2001 and FL in
2002. 
  (maybe the one owner moved across the country). It was then titled in FL
in 
2006 and FL in 2010. I guess Florida vehicle titles expire every four years,

because we know it's a one owner car, right?
