That would be a great improvement. However, the current crop from MB is so ugly in the front end.... I sure like the looks of a 124 better or even a 210.

Daimler does this now with the W212... have you seen the video of the
production of that car that went around recently?  I seem to recall one part
when they just put the whole dash in all together already.

This would suggest that you can remove it in one piece also.  I bet that
evaporator is only a few hours of work after that point  :-)

 Will MB EVER learn to build a car, then put in the heater/evap?  (As
 opposed to slapping the heater/evap on a stand, then building the rest of
 the car around it as they still do.)    Jaime, you listening?


 How about a unit that you unhook electric, vacuum, freon and water, then
 unsnap 2-4 clips and the whole thing comes out for service or a unit
 replacement?   Or better yet, after you unhook electric and vacuum, the evap
 and heater cores stay behind and hooked up as you slide out the rest of the
 unit.  (kind of like a doghouse cover on an old van (1960s)
