I did some work at Whiteman in the hangars for these aircraft. A couple things of note that I recall (and can discuss):
Many of the perimeter guards at this base were women. Not sure if this was intentional or a coincidence. Gobbler's Knob or whatever it was had the only restaurant nearby. Got to enter the cockpit and sit in the pilot's seat. No photos, unfortunately. Amazingly, a WalMart folding beach chair in the aft compartment for crew members to snooze in. Hangars were like a surgical suite. First time I was there you had to wear a bunny suit to enter. Later visits did not. Amazing aircraft. They looked fast just sitting in the hangar.
