The only Asian car that ever interested me was an old Datson 240Z. I
remember an old school teacher (real car enthusiast) having a few. He would
arrive at school early before the teachers parking lot was cleared on winter
days, just so he could spend a half hour doing donuts before class started!

I found one that I lusted after, when I was a just a few months off turning
16 and getting my license. It was rusty and rough, but the only thing close
to what I could afford. I couldn't quite come up with the $1500 or so being
asked (which was nuts even then, looking back), but went to the owner with a
counter offer a couple of weeks later, after arranging a loan from my Mother
for the difference. The owner said she was sorry to inform me, but the car
had fallen into two pieces while sitting in the driveway the week before!!
lol

That was my one and only interest in Asian cars, and most of it was probably
due to the car looking like a baby Daytona, or as close as I'd ever get to
owning one.
