"Diesel fuel".  "Gasoline!"

I haven't noticed anything this blatant in Oregon, which
also legislates that you be 'helped' by 'trained' personnel.
(Personally I think that the training, if there is indeed
any, consists of knowing where the fuel cutoff switch is,
and the spill cleanup kit.)  I think I've actually fueled
my own diesels a few times in OR, I seem to remember that
one of the attendants told me that the law only applied
to gasoline, though most places treat them the same.

Of course, the untrained personnel (not to name anybody
I might or might not be married to) also can make this
mistake...

Rest assured that your older MB engines will survive the
experience, though they won't be happy about it.  Those
inline Bosch pumps are quite hardy.
