The prior repost to answer Andrew's question was from Thursday. THis
one is earler, and was posted last Tuesday.
My guess is neither.
I am thinking throttle adjustment (what is the cold Idle RPM?) , or
as previously said also, rack damper, or something binding the
rack/governor.
This is turning out to be a major PIA. When cold, the 1985 300TD
won't start unless I give it a throttle boost, no matter how long I
pre-glow. Also, when I shift into Drive and head out the car stalls
and I have to repeat the preglow all over again. Once the car is on
the road there is no problem with stalling, etc. Is this an injection
pump or glow plug issue, neither, or both?

The nut that holds the wheel is the cause of 99% of auto accidents
and the majority of roadside breakdowns, and is the cause of many
engine failures.
Does YOUR car need to have the nut that holds the wheel replaced?
