"Fair use" is shifty territory in the USA."Fair use" isn't clearly defined and the law is based on paper right - and electronic media sure changes how the game is played! So, having a _backup_ copy of a copyrighted "all rights reserved" video is likely covered by fair use. If you make a duplicate so that you can keep one copy in the den and one in the living room it is not clear if it's covered by "fair use". If you give a friend a copy, you are almost certainly outside of "fair use" For those who _want_ to share their work without giving up all rights, there's CreativeCommons license. http://creativecommons.org Of course, just because it's unlawful doesn't mean you will get caught. Just look at speed limits.... Philip, not a lawyer - honest!
