So are you getting out of MB's or what?

I also drove a 2012 Passat with the DSG 6 speed. It was surprisingly
smooth. Yes, lots of shifts, but they were very smooth. It was much more
pleasant to drive than the MBs!
I'm going to drive a 2012 SUbaru Impreza with the CVT after they finish
cleaning the broken glass out and replace the windshield and rear window.
It should get great gas milage due to the many hail dents.

I test drove a 2011 grand caravan last year. It has a 6 spd auto of MB
heritage. I didn't like it. It churned all the time. Shifts were very
MB-like. Not at all like american slushy shifts. I decided to stick with
the older designs. I think the 97-2000 form like OK Don has is the epitome
of the dogde van. (except for changing plugs/wires/back head) THe
serviceability of the newer designs is better. the
driveability/comfort/visibility is better in the 97-2000 series.
Very interesting. I test-drove a pair of 2012 C250s last week, a sport
and
a luxury. Both had jerky shifts, whether in normal or sport mode. It
wasn't
like a hard shift from a mis-adjusted vacuum modulator, it was like a
hesitation followed by a hard shift. Most un-impressive.
