Who provides your internet service?

How likely is you internet service to stay up in the event of a storm or other
disruption?

For now I keep my land line because of the telco's 99% uptime. We had a big ice
storm in 2008 that shut off my wife's cell for 2 weeks. Our home phone was
unaffected.

So do you do any streaming (e.g. Netflix) or VOIP/Skype etc. on this
service? How does that work out?

Comcast just shipped me some gadget I need to attach to my TV to
continue getting their channels, which is annoying. I just picked up a
Magic Jack on a whim and have to say it works as advertised. So I don't
need the phone company and I'd love to dump Comcast too. But I want to
keep Netflix and now my VoIP phone service.
