BTW, Craig, granddaughter (NCSU rising junior) is on a paid Summer
internship at the Sevilletta National Wildlife Refuge, NM. 'Drove into
Albuquerque last weekend; 'thought she'd run over a rattlesnake; stopped to
do the required recovery, bagging, tagging, etc., in the refuge and,
luckily, saw the critter's tail as it slithered away under a creosote bush.

For now I keep my land line because of the telco's 99% uptime. We had a
big ice storm in 2008 that shut off my wife's cell for 2 weeks. Our
home phone was unaffected.
In our case, we need to keep our land line because our Internet service
comes across our telco's DSL service.
