I don't think that was what the original article said. I believe they
said the cars cost more and so did the fuel and that was why they did
not believe them to be such a good deal anymore.

Diesel fuel in Europe is still cheaper than gas. It's a no brainer there. The

People in the used market seem to be more interested in the diesels than the
new car buyers are, so they seek out used diesels and pay a premium for them,
especially VW TDIs.
