Yeah, I have my 6" walnut Ludwig of about that vintage in the
original case. I think I threw out the Haskell Harr method books.
I sitll have the '63 Lugwig Super Sensitive 5" snare drum in the original
case, with the original heads. I wanted to get rid of it when we moved last
year, but the wife and kids nixed the idea. It's still just taking up
space, but in the hanger instead of the attic now.

Dunno about Gretsch, but Ludwig made drums (in Chicago), and Slingerland
made banjos in the early years. Then Ludwig decided to make banjos, so
Slingerland started making drums. Slingerland kinda whipped Ludwig.
Gretsch seems to make both drums and Banjos and also guitars. There is a
great book about Ludwig by Rob Cook. He also has similar books for
slingerland, Rogers, and Leedy, but none for Gretsch.
I'd guess your instrument may have some collector value, but you'd have to
find a good reference. Take it to a couple of music shops. I was wondering
about the value of my Slingerland '65-'66 drum set, and two music shops
1000 miles apart said basically the same thing, so that was heartening.
Got a Gretsch "Senorita" banjo in the closet that the wife has said to
sell. Can't find much on these on eBay or other online sales sites.
Anyone know anything about them and possible values?
