The Fed govt and private sector are all closed today in DC. The only people working are letter carriers and grocery store personnel who drive. Metro rail and buses are all taking a holiday. Winds are starting to get seriously gusty (we lost our power for 15 minutes), rain has accumulated to 3.5" since last night at 6 PM when it started to rain. You could go waterskiing in our back yard (in a small boat). We expect another 24 hours of this as the storm slows down on its way W and then N. Armageddon is probably benign by comparison.
