Consumers Report has reported on these and had very little good to say about the Sharper Image. IIRC, they did a follow up on the latest version with a new device, same results.
They operate the different types in a room with the bad stuff introduced and go from there. It seems like they did say one type did best. I'll try to find their response and post it later.
