Having owned a 110 ('67 200D), I don't mind driving an ugly Mercedes so long
as it provides dependable, economic transportation.

fair point, and i understand how working everything through the wind
tunnel to reduce the C_d is a Good Thing for the highway mileage (that
most people don't do much of),.. but it seems it shouldn't have to come
out looking so ugly.
