Exactly. Say you buy a car run on wvo but with very good service history, or you buy a car that has never seen wvo but has poor service history, either way , it is a used car and it is up to you to check it out and make sure it is a good car before you lay down your cash. Maybe the previous owner tells you it was never run on wvo but had straight waste grease dumped in the tank and run that way with no conversion.......
You are buying a 30+ year old car, check it over for defects that you want to deal with. If it has been run on wvo but you can find nothing wrong with it then, like any other used car, why not buy it if the price is right?
