Googling about the problem suggests failure of the electronic brake control module which when it fails causes the ABS brake pump to keep running and drains down the battery. Taking about the ABS fuse disables it and truck can still be driven but won't have ABS. Some suggest that a ground failure can cause it but more likely the controller itself.

Truck has 1 of 3 types of modules, one is rebuildable. This guy can do it for fairly inexpensive compared to buying a new one, $130 v. many $100s. I found a vid on repairing it, looks like reflowing broken solder joints.

Gotta pull it tomorrow and see what sorts.
