Going North through the Perry, Ga area on I-75 in either a '73 or '80
Plymouth or Dodge (I forget which) the engine would quit for four or five
seconds and then start again. I first thought it was a bad solid state
module that fired the plugs on magnetic impulses from the distributor, but
replacing it made no difference.
Asked a local mechanic about it and he said it was caused by something
emanating from Warner-Robins.
Another trip I drove an east-west road south of Warner-Robins and had the
same thing happen.
Never been able to figure out what kind of radiation "beam" at the distances
involved would cause a high voltage coil/solid state switching circuit to
shut down; especially one that was pretty well shielded by the steel car
body sheet metal.

Bout to say diesels are prohibited in the real Athens unless you're a
