You could go the old-fashioned route and patch it up with lead or solder.

small can in the starter kit?

Guess what I just found!! I have right here on my desk a POR 15 SUPER
STARTER KIT - never opened; got it 8 or 9 years ago to try on a small
place
on underside of '81 300D I had then - sold the car before using the
POR 15.
I have a small plastic jar of METAL READY, small plastic jar of MARINE
CLEAN
and a small can of RUST PREVENTIVE PAINT.

Clean loose scale when dry. Paint the inside
with POR 15. After dry, recoat if necessary,
but for pinholes, one coat should do. Then paint
with "galvanized" paint
You may want to paint the underside too.
OK, here's another chance for y'all (Southern for youse guys ;<)) to
excel.
We have an antique, galvanized steel watering can almost identical to
the one shown in the following link:

SWMBO's mother had it sitting around her yard MANY years (I remember
seeing it there sixty years ago - 'thought it was old then). Son # 1
shot the side of it with a B B more than 50 years ago, so it still
has a little B B ding on the side that has not been a problem.
SWMBO's been using it around the yard for about 43 years. Well, I
was sitting out on the side terrace a little while ago enjoying the
sunny, 82° afternoon, picked up the watering can and held it up to
look at the bottom of it and noticed 3 or 4 small holes in the
bottom. Finally, here's the question - chance for y'all to excel -
how can I clean the inside, bottom of it well enough and then, maybe,
pour in some type of epoxy, or goopy material which could ooze out
through the little holes and seal the can so we can keep using it for
another 50 years? Suggestions, tips?
TIA
