thanks again to all who pitched in with pointers on tracking down the
issues on this!
finally got around to poking into this some more; had to deal with
the getting the wifelets econo-box to pass Calif smog first. (cleaned up
EGR stuff, replaced a cracked Ex Manifold, ran de-carbonizing gunk
through the system, etc., all to no avail; still blows high on NOx, and
now also blows high on HCs,... <sigh>. but that's another story.)
got under the hood of the 300D ('85 Calif) to start looking at
stuff at the beginning, since none of the doors seem to be
locking/unlocking significantly worse than any of the rest. starting at
the check valve, i found that the rubber 120* 3-way and 90* 4-way 'T's
were cracked at the ends to the point where it was remarkable that they
were staying in place at all!
has anyone had any success in sourcing proper replacement parts for
these recently? is this the sort of thing Trent might be able to help
with (Trent?), or am i stuck with hoping the dealer will be useful, or,...?
cheers!

hi!
symptoms of a vacuum leak are rapidly showing up in our '85 300D
(Calif); first the locks got slow to engage (with the Right Rear
being the first and worst), shifting has become 'abrupt', and it's
rapidly progressed to where the motor is intermittently slow to shut
down when keying off.
is there a resource for how to trace down and repair leaks that
anyone can point me to? any hints or tips as to what tool(s) i'm
going to want?
as always, thanks in advance for any help!
cheers!
e
