How long do you work your compost for? I throw mine into a pile for a year, 
then flip it into a different pile and let it rest a year (getting rid of the 
bad bugs) at which point its just dirt and sticks and the occasional bit of 
plastic.

I find the filters unsightly and don't degrade fast enough.
