I'm starting to worry I'm back to square 1 re: headgasket failure. Just after my last missive I put it up on ramps and left it for an hour. Went back and the coolant was low so I added, started it up and had cabin heat (yay!) so I pulled it down and went for a ride. Everything was looking good so I took a slightly longer loop than I had been but that was a mistake. By the time I got home it was very hot, coolant pouring out from the only half tight radiator cap. I think that might be because of the lack of real pressure and the fact that we're getting pretty watery in there. Probably donw
I let it cool another hour, topped it back up, ran it up on the ramps again, let it get up to temp and left it. I *hope* the heater core still has air in it as its been gurgling as of late. I'll go out in a little bit and try 'er again. -Curt Date: Fri, 14 Jun 2013 08:52:55 -0700 From: Jim Cathey <j...@windwireless.net> To: Mercedes Discussion List <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Subject: Re: [MBZ] 240D won't burp Message-ID: <7a807dca-d50a-11e2-a381-000502d9a...@windwireless.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed I get the air out by cracking open the top hose at the radiator and pouring water in until it's running out over my hand, then I push the hose on. That seems to do it. Try parking with the nose significantly up.
