Remember the fight the other day about TDI timing belts? I found a write up of the two procedures. A3: http://www.tdiclub.com/articles/A3-TimingBelt/ - Jetta through '99.5 A4: http://pics2.tdiclub.com/pdf/a4timingbelt.pdf - Later Jetta and all Beetles
This explains (in detail!) the difference between my estimate that it should cost around $400 for a timing belt and water pump and another lister's (Hans?) experience of paying $800 for same. The later cars require the engine to be lifted to fit the belt by among other hoops to be jumped through. I'm very disappointed in VW for this one, they clearly should have used a chain. -Curt _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
