For the amount of miles per year and weight of the work the truck will do, no I probably not looking for a diesel. Probably gasser, possibly even a v6.
I've finally managed to get Angie driving the 190D full time so the Ranger is only getting a few hundred miles a month. We still need a 4wd of some kind for hauling wood and snowmobiles and trips to camp and whatnot and while a pickup isn't required a "real SUV" is, that is something with real offroad prowess, not a soft-roader like a Jeep Compass... -Curt Date: Thu, 26 Dec 2013 20:27:58 -0600 From: Fmiser <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [MBZ] VW Diesel ute Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII > Curt wrote: > > As it stands my current plan is that this time next year I'll > spend about $10k on a used GM fullsize single cab 4wd pickup. > With luck that'll be 2006 vintage but we'll see. So new? The 6.5 turbo diesel was only available until 2000. Find a 6.5 with a NV4500 manual and you get a good car and diesel goodness too. Or get a Cummins - but unless you do your own engine swap that means a Dodge. You are aiming at a diesel - right? -- Philip _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
