I should mention the reason I have some banjo screens left over is
because we stopped selling them. They are such a PITA to keep clean we
suggest a in-line metal bodied filter be used. BTW, the plastic
housing filters have been known to split in gas engines. Makes one heck
of a fire!
Sincerely,
Larry

The Classic Center is a great resource. I called them today and they do not
have the banjo fuel distributor filters. The quest continues.

Rough...help!
I believe I have 3 or 4 of the mesh screens that fit into the Banjo
fittings feeding the Weber carbs on Porsche 911s. (I sell Porsche Weber
Parts) . I'll see how many I have and est their size. Being a fine
mesh they are kind of flexible.
In the mean time, I suggest you visit MB Classic at

They were a huge help when I needed an obscure part for my 78 240D...

I remember these, they can be cleaned with a bit of carby cleaner and

From memory they do help to regulate the flow or some such thing but
more importantly act as a last line of defence to stop nasties getting
into the FD.
Also lets consider that the FD rebuilder makes money from rebuilding
FD, so it may be in his interest to have these things need work on a
regular basis but then again he probably knows more than the idiot
engineers at Bosch.
Hendrik
who knows less than the Bosch engineers but pretends otherwise

If the screens/filters are truly not available (try MB CLassic) I
would add a filter in the fuel line leading to the FD. fuel has
all kinds of crap in it which should be kept out of precision
equipment like the FD if at all possible.

Larry

Seems they put them on for a reason. Can't you move the fitting from
the old to the new?
