But they don't say which half, either. It can't be the top half, so it
must be somewhere below the top 85 people, and probably below the top few
million at least.
In either case, this is sorta interesting but doesn't really concern me
that much since they probably also employ or otherwise support a goodly
number of people, who might otherwise be in some other half of the
population.

The article might be accurate, for all I know - however, I tend to
discard
reports with obvious factual or copy errors. I have trouble believing
something could have an error so obvious that I see it, but no others.

Might be true if you say "the richest 85 people have as much as half
of the world's population".
There are an awful lot of people who have essentially, nothing.
The other statement saying "the 85 richest people have half of the
world's wealth" does not say the same thing and I would guess is not true.
