Seattle school district has been severely underfunding vocational classes for a few decades. They had a reputation as dumping grounds, and the administration wanted to push all kids to universities. Most of the shop teachers and support staff moved on because they got unfunded. Now that STEM is big, the district is thinking some more about maybe doing something so that it has employable products at the end of 14 years.
Other districts had been keeping their programs intact, so they got the extra state funding that the egg head idiots passed by. In future there will be kids able to find jobs as nursing assistants, techs and carpenters.
