Really? It appears to me that Al Qaeda has accomplished their objective of repelling the US from the Middle East. China and Russia, the other big kids on the block, seem unconcerned about potential US intervention. Meanwhile, China is buying up the US (piecemeal) while Europe is blackmailed by Russian energy. From where I stand it seems delusional to believe the US still has great influence in the world. I would be interested in views of some of our non-US members.
