Thanks Peter! I have a box of several hundred assorted o-rings, bought from some store a few years ago -- should I get one from the dealer (assuming it shows on the parts diagram) or just match it as close as possible to one in my assorted box? seems like "close" would work in this case if the snap ring will put enough pressure on the o-ring to keep things from leaking....

This is a common issue, just like the leak at the lift pump connection caused by the same thing, a bad o-ring.

You will get rough running cold sometimes from the leak, as the fuel is being sucked through the pre-heater by the lift pump, and if it leaks when cold, it pulls air in.

Make for starting problems when cold as well.
