More than likely, his old lady is behind the scenes, telling him to get his money back. Anytime more than $1000 is involved, you'd best have SWMBO informed of your intentions of parting with cash. He bought the car without informing his significant other of his intentions, or the cost. That is my guess. Don't take it personally. He screwed up.
