I can take a short drive across the border to Mexico and buy all the R12 I want.. Gallons or pounds of it.. I guess R12 doesn't cause global warming in Mexico?
With a license [available via testing online, BTW.] I can purchase R12 at the local Air Conditioning supply store [hey, it's Phoenix, AC rules, we have AC parts supermarkets here]. The over the counter, Phoenix R12 is costly, but available. The over the counter Mexican R12 isn't so costly... both preform the same, made to same standard..
