Well, although both Costco and Sam's are warehouse stores, I think their business models are very different. Disclaimer: I have never set foot in a Sam's, although I have a nephew who works for them. Costco has a reputation for selling high quality merchandise and foods at reasonable prices. Costco has a reputation for paying their employees well, and having very low turnover. Reportedly, Costco has resisted increasing their profit margin at the expense of consumers. I don't think Sam's shares these reputations.
