Last fall my wife and I picked up our 1973 GMC 23' motorhome and our first trip was a GMC rally on Treasure Island in the SF bay. We dry camped for 3 days there using a single solar panel wired through a cheap 6a charge controller into a pair of 6V deep cycle batteries. I mention this because one of the largest draws is the wife's CPAP.
I don't know if I would recommend a GMC unless you really like to work on your vehicles. http://gmcers.org/ Dave L Lynnwood, WA '95 E300D (head going back on this weekend) '82 300CD daily driver '73 23' GMC much more, less interesting stuff. > Date: Wed, 11 Mar 2015 14:19:03 -0700 > From: "Greg Fiorentino" <gf...@dslnorthwest.net> > To: "'Mercedes Discussion List'" <mercedes@okiebenz.com> > Subject: [MBZ] Sprinter based RV? > Message-ID: <046a01d05c41$0019e0f0$004da2d0$@net> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" > > Questions for the group: > > > > SWMBO and I are toying with the idea of getting rid of our 5th. wheel and > Powerstroke F250 in favor of something smaller and more of a pleasure to > take for long road trips/camping in national parks and such. > > > > Do any of you have experience with the Sprinter, especially as a chassis for > an RV? > > > > It seems they are powered by a V-6 turbodiesel.
