If the key won't turn the lock is buggered. Clean it? The trunk lock innards can get out of alignment such that the trunk won't unlock correctly, such as the full-left override position.
The Frankenheap's rear-ending left things in a state such that while the trunk could be locked, it could not be UN-locked without a drill and a hammer.
