Just curious as to why you say the existing generator does not fit your purposes?
It's too big for 24x7 use, yet too small to actually run the electric furnace too. And I still would prefer diesel. In a perfect world I'd have a small diesel thumper that would handle the base load, and a big one that would kick on when it sensed a big 240V load. Obviously there would be some wiring challenges to go with this. -- Jim
