Isn't there an app for that?  Plug in your airframe,take-off weight (before
you take off), app uses GPS to determine altitude, airspeed, and locations
of nearest acceptable landing strip.  While airborne, your engine dies!!!
Oh no!  Hit the app "panic button" and the computer either tells you which
heading and how far, or that it is time to use either the parachute (Wile
E. Coyote) or air brake (Bugs Bunny).
