I am trying to determine if my 12 volt dry cell rechargeable batteries are bad
or if my charger is not fully charging them.
I am trying to run a peristaltic water pump over a 24 hour period taking 96
samples. I have done this successfully in the past using one fully charged 12
volt dry cell battery.
In both of the last two attempts, using two separate batteries the pump stopped
at approximately 66 samples. Both batteries were purchased in March of 2013 and
are only used 4 times per year.
Using a cheap digital multimeter the reading on the battery after use is 11.81.
The reading on my "fully charged" 2nd battery is 12.10.
The output on my 1.5 amp trickle charger is 12.85 volts.
Any thoughts? New batteries? New charger? Would fully discharging and then
charging help? Would a higher amperage charger help?
Thanks,
Michael Esh
