I've got the injectors loose on the '82 300D right now. When I removed them, the return line was soooooo brittle (10+ years old) it just broke off at the injector. How many people have R&R'd injectors and reused the return line? Just curious because I may pull them again and check compression....TIA all,

When they get brittle its usually that way throughout. I had to cut a line back and stick it back on as a temp repair. I buy it bulk 10 meter minimum at a time. So no, except if I just put new return lines on very recently. I wouldn't bother attempting to reuse older lines. If they seep they're shot. Did you unscrew the injectors with the return lines connected? I hope you have a diesel compression tester and the proper adapter. Diesel tester will blow the average compression gauge to smithereens. A tester for a vergasser would normally measure in the 300psi range. Diesel gauges normally go to 800psi or 5,000 kp.the valves, hoses and connectors must also be able to handle some serious pressure. Think of how a diesel fires.......heat from pressure.
